Statement
My artwork explores my personal and abstract universe to, in a broader sense, unlock the effects of the insularity and political indoctrination of the Cuba island were I from. I try to found sense of my personal story, as well as concern about my country and the elements and processes that make up my identity.
Creating visual exercises that investigate notions such as sequence, uniformity and repetition, concepts that are used in totalitarian regimes as tools of organization and social control. Some recurring themes in my work are political power and its relationship with the natural order. Creating fictions related to geometry and collective memory. Images that generate identity and at the same time in retrospect we can find clear answers, parallels in nature.
